The Chipotle Miracle!

How a vision of a burrito led to someone’s miraculous healing.

So the other night, I'm upstairs reading and I keep seeing a vision/mental picture of a silver wrapped burrito ( I know what you're thinking, he's just hungry or cookoo). The truth is that I honestly was not, the vision/mental picture seemingly came from absolutely nowhere and was very persistent. When I walked downstairs, no joke, I caught out of the corner of my eye a coupon for a free burrito from Chipotle laying on a stand by our front door. God can make it so so easy to obey Him sometimes. All things considered, I concluded that God, in His own unique and seemingly foolish way was leading me to go to Chipotle. I happily went to get a bite to eat with a prophetic hunch that there would be more to this unfolding story.

Fast forward to when I was finally at the register; I noticed, when the lady behind it walked back a bit, that she had a knee brace on her left leg. I politely asked her what was going on with her knee, to which she replied that she had seriously injured it several weeks ago playing in a soccer game and would have to have surgery soon. I asked her if she believed in miracles? She replied, yes. I asked her if she believed in the healing power of God? She again replied with a firm yes and further explained that she had put off surgery for that very reason.

Good God, I felt her hunger and faith and knew in my heart she was ready to receive her miracle! I now understood the real reason why God had tricked me into going to Chipotle. He wanted to ensure I would go by enticing me with a coupon for a free buritto at my favorate Mexican fast food Restaurant! God is so shrewdly brilliant sometimes. Well, 2 minutes later we were having a healing service right there in the Chipotle restaurant. No more than 5 minutes later the pain and discomfort in her knee had gone from an excruciating 9 out of 10 to a very calm and pleasant 0 (no pain nor discomfort at all)! She could walk on it perfectly and we gave all the glory to our Father God!

Upon reflection, I was completely blown away at how God responded to this young woman's faith. Getting me up and out of bed late into the evening (around 10pm), in a way I couldn't say no too. He initiated it all with a simple, creative and clear prompting of His Spirit so that this woman's prayer would be answered, that her leg would be fully restored and made perfectly whole. God is so good and He responds to our faith, sometimes in the most perculiar and unexpected moments in our regular everyday life! Wait on Him one more day, stay the course a little longer, God will do what he said He would do, because He loves us with a Big Abba-Daddy kind of love and He's reliable and well able to make the impossible possible in your life. The moment you think it's over, is often times when He will appear. Why you may ask...because Light shines brightest in our darkest hour and Divinity is revealed far more clearly against the backdrop of our own humanity. He sets the time table, not man and HIS GLORY becomes far more evident when the situation is hopeless and you've tried everything you know to do with no success nor solution. Even Jesus waited till his friend Lazarus had been dead and buried in a tomb four whole days and everyone (baring one: Martha) considered that it was absolutely too late for a miracle. Even Mary, Lazarus's sister, lamented when Jesus arrived, saying "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died." That was precisely the moment God decided it was time to step in and reveal His glory. To do the impossible by raising an already decaying and lifeless corpse back to life again. Never count God out! He'll come through big time, oftentimes when you least expect it.

Secondly, never underestimate those seemingly peculiar promptings of the Spirit. They inevitably lead to something wonderful and special...I've seen it many times. Know that you are the answer to somebody else's prayer. Yes, your obedience or lack thereof to God's leadings can be the difference for many continuing or ceasing in their personal hell and torment here on the earth. Like a dear friend once told me a long time ago, “Someone is always waiting on the other side of your obedience". Plus...it always feels good to be used by God to help another in a way that draws their attention to the unconditional and compassionate Love of the Father!

Become a vessel today, a divine cup of salvation to pour out a drink of that delicious new wine of Redemption - so that mankind would truly “taste and see, that The Lord is GOOD.” Trust that God will not only lead you but empower you to hear and obey by His Amazing Grace and Precious Gift of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.

"It's Not by strength of man nor his intellect, it's not by will-power but by My Spirit's Power says the Lord, O you mountain of Zerrubabel, you will become a plain. And He shall bring forth the Capstone with shouts of Grace, Grace to it." - Zechariah 4:6-8
